Web Application Penetration Testing Course in Hyderabad

Learn to test a web application the way a client's assessment is run: map it, break authentication and access control, find injection and server-side flaws, then report each finding with evidence and a fix. This is our Application Security course, 6 weeks and 90 guided hours.

What the Course Covers, Module by Module

The Application Security course (HTA-101) starts with the web and finishes with a full assessment. The hours below are the guided hours for each module.

  • Web architecture, mapping and test planning (9 hours): HTTP and TLS, cookies, headers, Burp Suite set-up, content discovery and a coverage matrix.
  • Authentication, sessions and access control (12 hours): MFA and password-reset flows, JWT, OAuth 2.0, IDOR, and multi-role testing.
  • Injection and server-side attacks (12 hours): SQL injection, command injection, cross-site scripting, file upload, XXE and SSRF.
  • Business logic and advanced web attacks (9 hours): race conditions, request smuggling, cache poisoning, WebSockets and GraphQL.
  • Android and thick-client testing (25 hours): the same method applied to mobile apps and desktop clients.
  • Secure code review and DevSecOps (11 hours): threat modeling, Semgrep and ZAP, and the security of AI features behind web endpoints.
  • Capstone assessment (12 hours): an unseen web application and its API, a formal retest and an oral exam on your findings.

Attacks You Will Test for Yourself

  • Broken access control: horizontal and vertical privilege problems, IDOR and function-level gaps
  • Weak sessions and tokens, and badly implemented login, reset and MFA flows
  • SQL injection (including careful use of SQLmap) and NoSQL injection
  • Stored, reflected and DOM-based cross-site scripting, and what Content Security Policy does and does not stop
  • Server-side request forgery, including requests to cloud metadata services
  • Business logic flaws that no scanner reports, such as skipped steps and abused limits

How a Real Web Test Is Run

A professional test is a process, not a list of payloads. You agree the scope and rules of engagement, build a coverage matrix of every endpoint and role, test each cell, and keep evidence for every claim. At the end you separate real findings from scanner noise, fix a representative flaw, and run a retest to show it is closed. The capstone repeats this on an application you have not seen before.

Tools and Standards

You use Burp Suite throughout, with ffuf for content discovery, SQLmap, OWASP ZAP and Semgrep. Findings are mapped to the OWASP Top 10:2025, the OWASP API Security Top 10:2023, the OWASP Web Security Testing Guide and ASVS, the references clients and auditors expect to see.

Who This Course Suits

Graduates aiming at a penetration testing or application security role, developers who want to understand how their code is attacked, and IT professionals moving into security. You do not need to be a developer. A counselor can check your background and suggest where to start. Read the syllabus for the full topic list.

Fees and What Comes Next

The course costs ₹20,000 + GST on its own. Taken with the advanced Network and Active Directory course as the Offensive Security Track, both cost ₹30,000 + GST. Join in the Ameerpet classroom or live online, and try 3 to 5 classes free before you pay. Testing a system without written permission can be a criminal offense in India, so all practice happens in isolated labs.

The First Three Days

The first module is 9 hours, about three class days. You set up Burp Suite with a proxy, scope and site map, find hidden content with ffuf, and read client-side JavaScript for endpoints the page never links. You then list every endpoint and every user role in a coverage matrix, which is the plan for the rest of the test.

Scanners Help, but They Do Not Replace Testing

You use Semgrep for code, OWASP ZAP and Burp's scanner for running applications, and dependency and secrets scanning for the supply chain. Scanners are noisy and miss logic flaws. A large part of the capstone is explaining which scanner results are false positives and proving the real ones by hand.

How a Finding Is Written Up

Each finding states what is wrong, how to reproduce it, the evidence, the business impact and the fix. In the capstone you fix a representative flaw yourself and run a formal retest to show it is closed, which is how a client knows the work is finished. The OWASP ASVS is the standard many clients use to define "secure enough".

Six Questions to Ask Any Cyber Security Institute

Compare us properly and do not take anyone's word for it. Ask us every one of these, and ask every other institute too.

Who issues the certificate?

An institute completion certificate and an EC-Council certification are different things. Ask which you receive, and whether the exam voucher and any retake are included. Our parent company, BERRY9 IT SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED, has been an EC-Council Accredited Training Center since 2015: ask us for the accreditation details.

What exactly is in the fee?

Tax, courseware, lab access, voucher and retakes should all be stated in writing before you pay.

How long do I get lab access?

Hands-on time is what turns a certificate into a skill. Ask for the lab access period and what happens if you miss a session.

Who is teaching me?

Ask for the instructor's name and background, and ask to see an example of graded work.

What is the withdrawal and refund policy?

It should be written down and acknowledged before you pay, not explained verbally afterward.

Do you offer placement?

We do not provide job placement or placement assistance. What we give you is the skill, six graded reports you can show an employer, and interview preparation: resume and LinkedIn review and mock technical interviews. Applying for jobs is up to you, and the hiring decision belongs to the employer.

Common Questions

How long is the web application penetration testing course?

It is 6 weeks and 90 guided hours, with a 90-minute live class and 90 minutes of supervised practice in each weekday session.

Does it include API testing?

Yes. REST, SOAP and GraphQL testing, JWT and OAuth, and the OWASP API Security Top 10 are part of this course. See API security training online.

Do I need to know programming first?

You do not need to be a developer. Comfort with how the web works helps, and the first module builds the HTTP and browser basics you need. A counselor can confirm if your background fits.

Is there a certificate or exam at the end?

You finish with an assessed capstone and an oral exam on your findings, and receive a Hacking Trainer course certificate. It is not an EC-Council exam. For a vendor credential, see WAHS.

Is this the same as the EC-Council WAHS certification?

No. It is our own course with a Hacking Trainer certificate. WAHS is a separate EC-Council exam on web application hacking and security.
