A SOC analyst turns noise into decisions: which alerts matter, what happened, and what to hand over to the next shift. When an alert becomes an incident, someone has to handle it and then prove what happened. This course teaches all three jobs, and it is the usual first course for a fresher.

It covers the core concepts of four EC-Council certifications, taught hands-on: network defense fundamentals (CCT), SOC operations with Splunk, Wazuh and a Microsoft Sentinel orientation (CSA), incident handling and response (ECIH), and digital forensics and malware analysis with Autopsy and Volatility (CHFI). It is not EC-Council's courseware and does not include exam vouchers. You finish with a timed multi-alert simulation and a shift handover.

Course Overview

90 guided hours over 6 weeks in nine modules: cybersecurity and network defense fundamentals, SOC operations and log sources, Splunk with a Microsoft Sentinel orientation, Wazuh, EDR and threat intelligence, alert triage and threat hunting, incident handling, digital forensics and malware analysis, and AI in the SOC, ending in a timed incident simulation. You learn in a hands-on lab environment with instructor guidance, in our Ameerpet classroom or live online.

Questions About SOC and DFIR

Does it prepare me for CSA, ECIH, CHFI or CCT?

It covers the core concepts of all four, hands-on, which is a strong base for the exams. It is not EC-Council's official courseware, and exam vouchers are not included. Enroll for each certification separately if you want the credential; each has its own page and fee.

Is this course part of the Offensive Security Track?

No. It is optional and sold on its own at ₹20,000 + GST. Take it before or after the track; most freshers start here.

Which tools do you teach?

Splunk and Wazuh, hands-on, with Sysmon telemetry and Sigma detections. The forensics module uses Autopsy for disk images and Volatility for memory, with network, email and timeline analysis.

Do you cover Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar or CrowdStrike?

Splunk and Wazuh are taught hands-on. Microsoft Sentinel and its KQL query language get an orientation. EDR concepts are taught with Wazuh and Sysmon, the way tools such as CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender work. QRadar and ArcSight are not covered; SIEM skills transfer between products.

Is phishing investigation covered?

Yes. Module 5 has triage playbooks for the common L1 alerts, starting with phishing email analysis: headers, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, links and attachments.

Can a fresher join?

Yes. The first module covers networking and security fundamentals, so basic computer skills are enough. A short diagnostic during admissions checks your starting point.

Are there CTF challenges in the SOC and DFIR course?

Yes. Every student in every course gets CTF challenges on the month's topics, run in the lab, alongside the course assessment.

What credential do I receive?

You receive a Hacking Trainer course completion certificate. It is issued by Hacking Trainer and is not an EC-Council or other vendor certification.

How much does the SOC and DFIR course cost?

₹20,000 + 18% GST (₹23,600 in total). Refunds follow our refund and cancellation policy; an exam voucher cannot be refunded once we have bought it.

When does the SOC and DFIR course start?

Admissions confirms the batch dates, the mode and your seat for this course in writing. It lasts 6 weeks, 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday. It is optional and not part of the Offensive Security Track.

Should I take this course or the full track?

SOC and DFIR is optional and sold on its own. It is the usual first course for a fresher, and a good companion to the Offensive Security Track (application security, then network and Active Directory, at ₹30,000 + 18% GST (₹35,400 in total)).

Can I attend online?

Yes, in our Ameerpet classroom or live online. Confirm the mode of your batch when you inquire.
