Cyber Security Jobs in Hyderabad
Most beginners pick a course first and a job second. Do it the other way around. This guide shows four common entry routes, the one course and the one or two certifications that fit each, and what to show an interviewer.

Four Roles, and What Prepares You for Each
Every course is 6 weeks and ₹20,000 + GST on its own. The Offensive Security Track is the two penetration testing courses together, application security then advanced network and Active Directory, for ₹30,000 + GST. SOC and DFIR is an optional course of its own.
- SOC analyst. Watches alerts in a SIEM such as Splunk or Wazuh, decides which ones matter, investigates and escalates real incidents. Course: SOC and DFIR, an optional course. Best certification: CSA v2 (CCT first if you want a broad technician base). Work to show: A timed incident simulation and a written incident case.
- VAPT analyst or penetration tester. Tests networks and Active Directory with permission, proves what an attacker could really do, and writes the report that gets it fixed. Course: Network and Active Directory (advanced), weeks 7 to 12 of the track. Best certification: CEH v13 then CPENT AI (CEH first, CPENT AI once you have real lab hours). Work to show: Network and Active Directory reports.
- Application security tester (web, API, mobile). Tests websites, APIs, Android apps and desktop software for flaws such as broken access control and injection, and reports them to developers. Course: Application Security, weeks 1 to 6 of the track. Best certification: WAHS (after CEH if you are new to security). Work to show: Web, API, Android and thick-client reports with a retest.
- DFIR and incident response associate. Investigates an incident, analyzes suspicious files, preserves the evidence and works out what happened, in what order and how far it spread. Course: SOC and DFIR, an optional course. Best certification: CHFI (for the forensics side). Work to show: A DFIR investigation report with a timeline.
What the Market Looks Like for a First Job
We do not promise a job, and no honest institute can: the employer makes the hiring decision. What we can tell you is what we saw.
- In our reading of Hyderabad job listings in October 2026, entry-level openings were more common in SOC roles, while penetration testing and application security roles more often asked for some experience.
- Several employers now use AI tools for routine alert triage. Interviewers therefore look for people who can check a tool's answer and explain the evidence. That is why every course we teach has a module on using AI responsibly.
- Hiring teams ask what you have done. Short written reports of lab work are the most useful thing to bring.
- We do not quote salary figures. Ranges vary widely, and we have not verified any we have seen. If an institute quotes one, ask for the source and the date.
Which Path Fits You
- New to security, any degree or none: start with SOC and DFIR, which begins with networking and security fundamentals, then decide whether to move into testing with the Offensive Security Track.
- IT, network or Windows administrator: the advanced Network and Active Directory course builds on what you know; SOC and DFIR turns it into a SOC role.
- Developer or tester: Application Security (web, API, Android and thick client) is the closest fit.
- Want one exam to put on a resume: pick the certification in the table for your role, and read the certification roadmap first.
- Not sure: use the one-minute course finder or attend 3 to 5 free trial classes.
The Certifications Worth Doing First
These six are the ones we map to the roles above. Each EC-Council certification fee includes one exam attempt.
- CEH v13: the usual first exam for ethical hacking.
- CPENT AI: advanced, hands-on penetration testing.
- WAHS: web application hacking and security.
- CND v4: network defense fundamentals.
- CSA v2: SOC analyst work.
- CHFI: digital forensics.
Other Certifications
Through our parent company, an EC-Council Accredited Training Center, we can enroll you for any EC-Council certification, including ECIH, CTIA, CCT, CCSE and COASP. Most beginners do not need them first. Choose one when a job listing you are targeting names it. See all certifications.
What a Course Cannot Do
A course gives you skills, a lab and work to show. It cannot give you a job, a salary or an interview. Practice on your own after class, keep your reports, and apply widely.

What jobs can I get after a cybersecurity course?
Common first roles are SOC analyst, VAPT analyst, application security tester, and incident response associate. The role you can reach depends on your practice, your reports and the openings at the time. We do not promise a job.
Which certification should I do for a SOC analyst role?
CSA v2 is the closest match, with CND v4 first if you want a network defense base. Check the listings you are targeting to see which they name.
Which certification should I do to become a penetration tester?
CEH v13 is the usual first exam, and CPENT AI is the hands-on step after it. Employers often value lab work and reports as much as the certificate.
Do I need the full track, or one course?
One course is enough if you know the role you want. The Offensive Security Track (both penetration testing courses) suits people aiming for testing roles, and costs less than buying the two courses separately. Freshers often start with SOC and DFIR.
Are certifications required for a cybersecurity job?
Not always. Some listings name them and many value hands-on proof. A certification helps with screening; it does not replace practical skill.
